THE GAIA ORGANIZING SUMMIT IS COMING

Two days. One giant organizing game. A whole lot of strategy.

This Halloween weekend, we're bringing together members, organizers, activists, and allied organizations for something different.

The GAIA Organizing Summit is a two-day immersive training and strategy experience where we’ll learn how to build campaigns, develop effective tactics, handle conflict, protect our communities, and build power together.

But we're not just sitting in a classroom.

We're turning the whole weekend into a roleplaying game.

You'll be dropped into a fictional campaign against Stilton Hotels, a fictional corporation profiting from its relationship with a fictional immigration enforcement agency called FICE. The world is fictional... but the organizing challenges are very real.

Throughout the weekend, you'll have to make decisions, build coalitions, respond to opposition, deal with unexpected developments, evaluate tactics, and figure out how to move a campaign forward.

WHAT WE'LL COVER:

Nonviolent Direct Action
Learn what makes direct action effective, how nonviolent discipline works, and where different tactics fall on the line between effective/ineffective and violent/nonviolent.

Strategy & Tactics
Learn how to identify targets, map power, build a theory of change, and choose tactics that actually move a campaign forward.

OPSEC & Security Culture
Learn how organizers can protect themselves, their communities, and sensitive information while building a culture of security.

De-escalation & Dealing With Instigators
Practice staying disciplined when someone is trying to provoke your group, and learn how organizers can respond without allowing someone else to control the situation.

Legal Education
Learn about protest rights, police encounters, arrest, common legal issues around demonstrations, and when it's time to talk to a qualified attorney.

THE STILTON CAMPAIGN GAME
Put everything you've learned into practice. Your team will be given a fictional campaign, a target, allies, opposition, and a constantly changing situation. You'll have to adapt as the game unfolds.

This isn't about learning a script.

It's about learning how to think like an organizer.

Because campaigns don't come with instructions.

Targets change.
Coalitions disagree.
Opposition responds.
Unexpected things happen.

The organizers who make a difference are the ones who can adapt, communicate, build power, stay disciplined, and keep moving.
