The Golden State Furry Convention is coming to the LAX Hilton… and so are we.
Every Sunday, every convention, every guest who walks through those doors will hear the truth: Hilton Houses Hate. The LAX Hilton continues to house agents from ICE. The same agency responsible for countless abuses, family separations, and deaths in detention.
So while the furries gather inside, we’ll be outside making sure the reality cannot be ignored.
This protest will be a little different — because let’s be honest, protesting a furry convention is definitely a unique moment in organizing history. Expect creative signs, high energy, and a crowd that knows how to make a point while keeping things lively. Whether you come in protest gear or show up ready for the unexpected spectacle, it’s going to be one of the most memorable Sundays yet.

Join us for our monthly GAIA ICE Breakers Public Townhall, an open organizing space where community members, volunteers, and organizers come together to plan the work ahead.
This townhall is a chance for all of us to collectively shape our campaigns and actions. We will discuss upcoming organizing efforts, review current campaigns, and work together to develop strategies that strengthen our movement. Whether you are brand new or already involved, this meeting is designed to be a place where everyone can contribute ideas and help guide the direction of our work.
During the townhall we will:
• Plan and strategize for upcoming campaigns and actions
• Provide training and skill-building for organizers and volunteers
• Assign volunteer roles and plug people into active projects
• Share campaign updates and next steps
• Create space for discussion, ideas, and community leadership

Join us this Sunday as we continue our weekly Hilton Houses Hate protest outside the LAX Hilton.
For weeks now, our community has been gathering every Sunday to call attention to the hotel’s decision to house ICE agents — an agency responsible for countless abuses, detentions, and deaths in custody. As long as Hilton continues to provide lodging to ICE, we will continue to show up.
Every week we gather to make sure the truth is heard by every guest who walks through those doors. We read the names, we hold the signs, and we remind the hotel that the public is watching.

Hilton Campaign Planning Meeting
We’re hosting a Hilton Campaign Planning Meeting to regroup, reflect on the campaign so far, and build out our next phase of strategy.
We’ll be reviewing what we’ve accomplished, discussing where things stand, and mapping out how we escalate and grow from here. Most importantly, we’ll be assigning volunteer roles so folks can plug in more deeply and take ownership of different parts of the campaign.
At this meeting we will:
Review progress from our Hilton actions so far
Share updates on outreach, media, and turnout
Assign clear volunteer roles (outreach, media, logistics, art builds, coalition building, research, etc.)
Identify leadership opportunities for those ready to step up
Build out our next 4–6 weeks of action planning
If you’ve been coming to the protests and want to get more involved? this is the meeting for you. If you’re new and want to plug in? this is also the space.
This campaign is long-term. We’re committed to showing up every Sunday and continuing to escalate until Hilton agrees to stop housing ICE agents. That kind of sustained pressure requires structure, shared leadership, and organized teams.

Hilton houses ICE providing rooms, comfort, and infrastructure to an agency responsible for family separation, detention, deportation, and death. This is how corporate America launders violence: clean sheets, polite smiles, and contracts signed in silence.
When ICE sleeps at Hilton, raids begin in our neighborhoods.
When Hilton takes the money, they take a side.
This action is about calling it out loudly and publicly.
No more hiding behind “hospitality.”
No more profiting off terror.
We’re bringing the noise to the Los Angeles Airport Hilton to make one thing clear:
Housing ICE is housing hate.
Comfort for ICE means violence for our communities.

TACTICS, STRATEGY & NONVIOLENT DIRECT ACTION TRAINING
A playful, powerful, hands-on movement laboratory
Before we take the streets for a citywide day of action, we’re kicking things off with a two-hour interactive training at GAIA HQ that’s equal parts movement school, strategy game, and collective imagination experiment.
This is not a lecture.
This is learn-by-doing.
Together, we’ll break into small affinity groups and participate in a live, gamified campaign simulation where Los Angeles has been taken over by a Big Orange Bad Guy, masked federal agents are disappearing “undesirables,” and corporations are making a killing off the whole thing.
Your job?
Figure out how to take the system down. Nonviolently, creatively, and strategically.
WHAT YOU’LL ACTUALLY DO
Learn the difference between strategy and tactics (and why movements fail when they confuse the two)
Power-map corporations, oligarchs, financiers, media, and state actors
Practice nonviolent direct action tactics from disruption to divestment campaigns
Design actions inside affinity groups and see how power actually responds
Adapt when backlash hits and escalate collectively toward real leverage
Measure success beyond vibes, clicks, or crowd size
All of this happens through a fast-paced, playful training game where every group gets to act, adapt, and collaborate toward a shared strategy.

Los Angeles | ICE Breakers x G.A.I.A x Coalition Partners
On January 16th, 2026, ICE Breakers and G.A.I.A are joining forces with dozens of grassroots organizations, artists, organizers, and community members such as Jolly Good Ginger, Resist The Coup, Human Liberation Coalition, Chelsea Gods, Da Woke Farmer and more! for a citywide day of action in Los Angeles.
This will be a coordinated escalation, rooted in nonviolence, strategy, and mass participation. Aimed at confronting the systems, corporations, and institutions that enable fascism, tyranny, and oligarchs who think they are beyond accountability.
11:00 AM TACTICS, STRATEGY & NONVIOLENT DIRECT ACTION TRAINING
Hosted at G.A.I.A Headquarters 346 N Vermont Ave Koreatown
We will begin the day together with a tactics, strategy, and nonviolent direct action training led by experienced organizers. This training is designed for first-time participants and seasoned activists alike.
The training will cover:
Nonviolent direct action principles
De-escalation and safety
Affinity groups and action roles
Legal considerations and risk levels
How today’s actions fit into a
larger strategy to pressure billionaire oligarchs, fascist and supremacist ideologies, and Corporations that profit from suffering.
Attendance at the training is strongly encouraged, especially for anyone participating in actions later in the day.
CONVERGENCE MARCH TO METROPOLITAN DETENTION CENTER

After training together we will converge to the occupation protest, all groups will converge and march together to the Metropolitan Detention Center.
This convergence represents:
Collective power

A direct challenge to the machinery of detention
This is a moment of unity. Many fronts becoming one.

Following the MDC Occupation Protest, we will move into the final phase of the day:
Tesla Diner Takedown Protest
This action will confront corporate power and tech-enabled authoritarianism, calling out the role corporations play in surveillance, repression, and state violence.

On Saturday, October 4th, the Ice Breakers campaign is gathering for our next Town Hall meeting.
Town Halls are where we come together as a community. Members, organizers, volunteers, and allies, to make decisions collectively. This isn’t a top-down meeting; it’s a space where every voice matters and where strategy is shaped by those on the ground.
At this Town Hall, we’ll focus on crafting the Home Depot campaign plan. Together, we’ll:

Break down tactics and strategies for confronting Home Depot’s complicity with ICE
Offer nonviolent direct action training and tactics workshops
Build volunteer roles, especially for Home Depot patrols and community outreach
We are meeting because the time to act is now. ICE raids and corporate collusion continue to threaten our communities. The Home Depot campaign is our chance to show visible resistance, stand with day laborers, and send a message that Los Angeles will not be complicit.
