ICE BREAKERS: HOME DEPOT CAMPAIGN

Shut It Down to Build It Up

The Ice Breakers campaign is a bold, community-led movement to challenge Home Depot’s role in supporting ICE and to defend the rights of day laborers and immigrant communities across Los Angeles.

Over six months, we are organizing with art, strategy, and nonviolent direct action to shut down every Home Depot in LA for one day and deliver clear demands for justice.

OUR DEMANDS

  1. Allow NDLON to organize at all Home Depot locations in Los Angeles.

  2. Partner with immigrant rights groups to build a public safety plan for day laborers.

  3. Sever all direct or indirect ties to ICE and DHS.

  4. Post signage at all stores in multiple languages affirming that no law enforcement or ICE agent may access private property without a valid warrant.

WHAT WE’RE DOING

For six months, we are engaging in:

  • Daily outreach at key Home Depot stores

  • Storytelling and video campaigns featuring day laborers

  • Mass mobilizations and coordinated art actions

  • Economic pressure through boycotts and investor targeting

  • Organizing a citywide cultural festival of resistance and shutdown

This is a grassroots uprising rooted in the lived experiences of LA’s immigrant workers and fueled by a coalition of artists, organizers, and everyday people who believe no corporation should profit off detention and deportation.
